  • Genealogical DNA Testing:

  • FHSNL has partnered with Family Tree DNA, which specialises in genealogical DNA testing. Family Tree DNA offers several types of DNA tests, including a new "Family Finder" test that identifies relatives through a combination of maternal and paternal lines.
  • For direct paternal line testing (which involves testing a man's DNA), you can also search for a corresponding surname-based DNA project by using the "Surname Search" form on the right side of the Family Tree DNA webpage, or by clicking on "Projects" at the top of their webpage.
  • For direct maternal line testing, there is a Newfoundland and Labrador mtDNA Project that you can join if your direct maternal ancestral line involves Newfoundland and Labrador.
