Henry Lilly’s parents were George Lilly of East St. Modeste and Ann Davey Tucker of Carbonear (George and Ann married in October 1856) There are various versions of this story I think and the one reprinted on the interpretation panel from the magazine gets some facts mixed up. George Lilly was the brother of Melvina Lilly (wife of James Dumaresq Jr.) George is a friend of the Dumaresqs because he’s James Dumaresq’s brother-in-law.
