I am researching my maternal lineage which includes Clarkes & Drakes (also Fitzpatricks, Fitgeralds, possibly Bonnell or Pike) and Clarkes & Walshes (also Spirans, Lonergan) who settled in the Little St. Lawrence area of the Burin peninsula. I have a “Clarke” family tree that is public on Ancestry.ca – although I think you have to be a member of the site to view it? At any rate, if anyone has been researching these names in this area, it would be great to touch base.

    Hi Carolyn,
I know this is an old post, but my wife just came across it. I am related to many of the names you mention. My family came from the Lamaline area of Burin. I also have a tree on Ancestry that I can give you a link to if you are interested. Let me know.
    Regards,
    Howard

That would be great Howard! We have come to a few brick walls in those family lines around the 1830s, and you never know what might help! I am on Ancestry with username carolynjwalsh001. You can reach me on gmail with that name also. Thanks!
