ParticipantHi I am looking for my long lost grandfather, Dr Roy Naessen.
He practiced in Corner Brook from 70-90s from what I can find in the newspaper records. He was an ear, nose and throat doctor with a surgery at 57 Park St, Corner Brook, NL (in 1981) and then the last record was in 1997 for an address at 56 Elswick Road, Corner Brook, A2H 2W6, when he was still practicing medicine.
He was born around 1928, so he could still be alive (in his 90s now) and people from the area may remember him. He worked also at the local hospitals, such as the Western memorial Hospital and was either one of the directors or heavily involved in the Lions club (there is a Stephenville Lions club newspaper article about it, 1975).
He seems to have travelled a lot, getting his medical degree in Dublin, Ireland and the specialising further in Edinburg, Scotland and getting a job at a hospital in Gotenrburg, Sweden before moving to Newfoundland. I cannot find any death certificate for him, marriages or anything else after this entry in 1997 saying he would be going on holiday from the surgery.I would be most grateful for any information related to him and/or any family memebr associated to him. Many thanks

ParticipantI was a patient of Dr. Naessen latter becoming a friend of his for over 20 plus years. Roy passed away approx. 20 years ago. I was researching the funeral homes in Corner Brook recently checking when he passed away, I too was unable to find anything.I know very little of his past life but know two nurses who worked with him. One who came with him to Newfoundland from England.
To start maybe you can tell me about yourself and your relationship to him.
Many times over the past number of years I have though about him often.
I look forward to assist you in any way, please contact me
