What a great opportunity to meet fellow researchers with whom I have been in touch with for years! Thank you to the planning committee and all the volunteers, speakers, logistical people, and fellow attendees for a very successful conference. The speakers gave more context to my research (SNOW, GEARY, COOPER, CUMMINS/CUMMINGS, MADDOCK, EMERY, BURSEY, GOLDSWORTHY, and genetic MTDNA matches to JOHNSON and WHEELER, and other genetic matches to IVANY, ROBBINS, WELLS, MUGFORD, etc. and research in Grates Cove and Lower Island Cove in general) The opening evening at the Coastal Railway Museum was lovely with very yummy local appetizers. The Rooms setting was gorgeous. I didn’t want the conference to end, and as I’ve told some of the organizers, I again felt like a little girl at Christmas time attending the conference. Thank you for all the hard work behind the scenes to give us all this opportunity! I hope that recordings/videos might be made available some time in the future, and even a virtual conference so even more Newfoundland researchers could benefit. I am already thinking of my return for the next Rockbound Roots! Heather normally in Phoenix, Arizona, USA HLGOEBEL@YAHOO.com P.S. Please keep an eye out for my first cousin, once removed, Ingrid Verbree-Barnes, who is local and is working with me on the SNOW / GEARY line. (we had a very hospitable with Ingrid and her family!)
