4-year old FES was born and baptized in Greenspond, Nfld June 9, 1830. As was his infant brother Thomas. An Eliza Sainsbury 22, was also baptized at the same time. Unknown, but assuming this was their mother.
Fast forward to 1849, and a John Sainsbury from Pinchard’s Island writes a letter to Francis, now living in Port Hope, Ontario, in which it’s clear he’s now Francis’ only living brother. In that letter, John indicates Thomas has died and his widow has since remarried to a Mr. Glass.
FES is back on Pinchard’s Island in 1856 when he marries Mary Anne Carter.
Their children are born there from 1860-1880.
FES leaves Newfoundland in 1888 for Nova Scotia and later New Brunswick.
FES dies at 101 years of age in Port Elgin, NB in 1927, and is buried in Amherst, NS.
His death certificate indicates his father was George P. Sainsbury of England, and his mother’s maiden name was Evans, also of England.
Might anyone know anything about this family line and able to corroborate this, and any other information?
