I am seeking information on my great grandfather Levi White. He may have been born ib 1835?? He married Joanna Huxter in Catalina in November of 1859. He died in Catalina in 1863 at the age of 58. May heve been born Methodist but married and was buried in St. PetersChurch Catalina.I have struck a dead end trying to find his birth records or any parentage!! Any help appreciated..
Do you have any information on Nathaniel White who married Rebecca Babb on November 27, 1879. They were from Victoria Village. I am researching the Babb side, but do not know who Rebecca’s parents are. Rosalind
The record I saw gave the bride’s name as Rebecca Webb not Babb. Nathaniel was a fisherman and there was a Samuel Webb, also a fisherman living in the same community. I’m doing research on Nathaniel White and Rebecca Webb’s son John who married a woman from Nova Scotia in Boston.
Cynthia, Levi’s parents were William & Mary White. His baptism is in the Anglican records from Trinity parish.
It isn’t clear whether Levi’s parents are the same William & Mary White who resided at Catalina but relocated to Tickle Cove in Bonavista Bay in the 1830s. This William & Mary are ancestors of mine. Feel free to contact me at dapike@mun.ca if you would like to share some info.

Cynthia, where did you get the November 1863 death record for Levi? I’m looking at a copy of the records from St Peter’s Anglican Church (at the provincial archives) but there are no WHITE burials for 1863. On the contrary, there is a record of a burial that took place on 6 April 1893 for Levi White of Catalina who died 4 April 1893 at age 62.
