    My Great Great grandmother was Carolyn (Caroline) Barnes. She was born in Newfoundland in 1822. The 1891 census of Canada shows that she was living in New Brunswick with her husband William Frederick Smallwood. This census states that both of her parents were born in Newfoundland.
    I have no other information about her birth.I do not know where in NL she was born. I do have information about her death, her husband’s family and her children.

    I recently discovered that Caroline Barnes born in NL in 1822 was the grand daughter of a governor of NL. Hoping this bit of info will help someone recognize her. I do not know which governor.
