My great great grandmother was Mary (possibly Tarn , Tarne or even Thorn) who was born in Fortune Bay Newfoundland October 2nd 1841 and married my Great great grandfather Henry Levi Samways from Poole, Dorset in England in Burnt island, Newfoundland on July 29 1863. She couldn’t write so her name was probably written as it sounded, hence the confusion. I have had no luck with tracing her so far . Jane shepherd
