Apparently I posted a genealogical file related to James Piercey (not Piercy) a couple of decades years ago; I have no record nor memory of that.
Since then I have discovered that My Grandfather’s name was Philip Thomas Piercy from Fortune, Burin, and today (Jan 08,2015) I discovered additional Piercy’s in Past Island. Family stories on my mother’s side indicated her father PT Piercy was a fisherman (Captain?) and perhaps a whaler… story about dumping oil on a dangerous sea to calm high waves.

I visited Fortune years ago with my family – Hurricane Bertha had just passed by – but this was simply one location during our travelling the Maritimes.

I do have a copy of several handwritten notes and charts made by several persons, some of whom probably lived in Newfoundland. These include such names as Piercy, Hickman, Snook, Hillier, and Lake, and are applicable to my Mother’s history. She was born in 1901, supposedly in Fortune, but family left there in 1903/4.

I am creating a digital, i.e. photographic images, of all my information, even scraps of paper. Many of these images have been placed on a DVD, a second DVD will contain more images, but only a few relate to Piercy. These DVDs will be available to anyone who asks.
Of those who ask, I hope to receive some additional family information.

Take a risk carefully, it really is a lot of fun.
I found no info related to TAGS, I hope I’ve done correctly.]
