Richard SAUNDERS (son of James) was born in Cape Onion 1858. He married Emily RICE from Bear Cove, dau. of John RICE & Mary OSMOND.

Richard is father of my gfather Christopher (m Alice May Chapman) and also George; Ernest; Harriet; Rosetta (Rose) and Isabella. Some died on Bell Island and some in Ontario.

The family migrated around the White Bay area and eventually to Bell Island.

Would anyone have any information about Richard’s parents?? Rumor has it that his father James SAUNDERS was a sea captain, was drowned at sea and Richard was raised by another family. I’m interested in learning the facts about might have happened and the name of his mother.
