I’m looking for the surnames of my 4 great-great grandparents:
Patrick Kennedy born November 1824 in Lower Gullies and was 97 years old in 1921 according to the census.
Mary Ann Sprune (possibly Spruhen, or Sputken), his wife, no information on her….but they had at least 3 children that I know of: Thomas Robert, Annie, and Jane.John Carrigan born in May 1847 in St. Johns. He passed away 1918 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia.
Bridget Power, his wife, no information on her….but they had at least 2 children that I know of: John Joseph “Joe” Carrigan and Mary Ann Carrigan.Any information on these people, please reply. I am in dire need of information since I got my DNA results back I have a lot of Newfoundland ancestors that I cannot figure out the connection to. If you need my GEDmatch number, I can PM it to you.

I have learned that Patrick Kennedy was born around 1822 in St. John’s. Although the 1921 census says he was born 1824 in Lower Gullies.
I found his obituary in a Newfoundland newspaper online. He died March 18, 1923 and lived to see his 100th birthday. He died in Riverdale which is near Lower Gullies/Kelligrews.
I still can’t find his parents though which is what I need to find because I can’t get back any further in my lineage with any of my Newfoundland Ancestors.
